Hi, my name is Brittney Scheeringa. I grew up on the South Side of Chicago (and no I'm not a Sox fan!). I went to an all girls school for high school and started my college volleyball career at the University of Dayton in Ohio. A year later I came home and played for my local community college and had the chance to play different countries in a tournament in Dublin, Ireland. I transferred here my junior year of college and I can remember walking nervously into my first math class and having to prove that the square of every even integer is divisible by 4 right off the bat. So the proof went a little like this: Let m be even, so m = 2m, $m \in \mathbb{Z}$. Thus, $m^{2}$ = $2m^{2}$ = 4$m^{2}$.
So 4 divides $m^{2}$
Now, I am no longer scared by those types of proofs.

Currently I am a senior majoring in Math while doing the Secondary Education Minor.
