In class today, I realized too that I needed to brush up on my multiplication facts. :) So I went searching for some fun/easy ways to remember them and it turns out there are a bunch of easy tricks that I never learned. I ran across the one that Katie told us in class. Here it is:

These two multiplication facts are as easy as counting.

* 12 = 3 x 4 (Notice the numbers go 1, 2, 3, 4)

* 56 = 7 x 8 (These also go in order 5, 6, 7, 8)

* Remember these sentences.

o One two (12) equals three times four (3x4)

o Five Six (56) equals seven times eight (7x8)

* Because of the commutative property of multiplication

o 3 x 4 = 4 x 3

o 7 x 8 = 8 x 7
